Valerie experienced a blush. “Well, Sir, I just do not think we should.” I can’t tell him it's because he might think I’m a witch. “As I inferred earlier, it just seems that it would not look right to have a man come to call on a single woman who lives all alone.”
He charmed her with a quirk of his eyebrow. “Think about it, will you?” Without another word he mounted his horse and nonchalantly rode it away.
