Uncanny!

Valerie stood as still as a photographic image and stared a hole through the side of the car. She made no more noise than a snowflake’s hit on the ground as she inched closer to her car, where she fully expected to be able to catch the culprit unaware of her cognizance. Once she reached her Honda’s side, she peered over into it until her neck hurt, but still did not see anyone. At that point, Valerie relaxed as best as she could, despite the pounding of her heart. Tiny pinprick shivers gathered on her shoulders. They prickled up her neck and scattered across her scalp. Uncanny would not describe the situation she found herself in.
