She busied her anxious hands in her kitchen while she brewed some tea, and then sat with it in her favorite rocking chair. When that didn’t work she moved to a wainscot chair. The chair’s leather upholstered composition had been expanded to create a couch that seated two people. She curled her legs and feet up under her into a position that normally relaxed her, but that still did not work to calm her of the morrow.
Worry ran her ragged until deep into the night. She could not relax no matter what she did. When she finally did go to bed, tomorrow’s events forced Valerie to chase sleep with a fervid passion.
