Something Strange!

Valerie stopped in step outside the courthouse; the majestic gothic styled building filled her vision. She did not know what it was, but something did not strike her as quite right. It seemed there was something that she should know. In silence she stood and listened. She ran a slow gaze from end to end of the structure before she took the building’s front steps. Chills traversed her shoulders and a nauseating sense of déjà vu struck her core when she entered the city courthouse.

Everything changed when Valerie entered the legal center.

The thought of buying such dresses!

Hesitation still held her at the thought of buying such dresses. But her unbidden thoughts of her imaginative and erotic experience at the bus terminal nudged her toward the fitting room. It won’t hurt anything to at least try these on, just to see how I look in them.

Dresses had never been her choice of attire before. She had no interest in making herself look attractive to men who she assumed would have no interest in her. Not when they learned she could not bear them a family. So why now?

She hoped to see him there!

Had I hoped to see him there? Am I conceited enough to have thought he had nothing better to do than stand around all day looking at me? And then, against all her better impulses, Valerie took another check through the myriad of scratches in the time-worn glass of the window at her side. While she gave it another good once over, she noticed the entire area had cleared of the passengers and what not who previously milled around it. For all her scrutinization; she found the man whom, by his she assumed to be a magician, nowhere to be seen. The events of her morning bewildered her. A shiver of déjà vu ran through her when she remembered his two appearances... and disappearances.

It had been like magic.

Valerie Stared Into Space!

Let's all travel back n time for a couple of days and pretend this is my Seven Sentences for Feb 5!

Valerie stared into space and remained lost in her thoughts, oblivious to the few last minute riders who pushed past her. She inwardly trembled with what she had ‘seen’ in him. The connectedness she experienced with him frightened her. Until now, she had only succeeded in mental connections with children. In the midst of her confusion, the memory of when her eyes first opened to her gift for mental communication with children returned. Once more she quivered, but this time for an entirely different reason. She attempted a swallow when an all too familiar lump blocked her throat.

Serena Zane’s event on Feb 4th was Fun! I won a basket that was full of books, a pair of earrings, and a bottle of Chocolate Wine from Jessa Slade! Her series, where angels and demons collide, - Seduced by Shadows, Vowed in Shadows, and Forged of Shadows were included in the basket!
I received the first three books in a series about a legend that concerns a cursed Viking line. (the Immortal Brotherhood Novels) Extremely interesting!
I received Forever and a Day – a historical Prince and the Pauper type story from Delilah Marvelle and of course I scored myself a copy of Serena’s latest Delicious Vampire story (The Christmas Present)!

A Ghost At Manresa Castle!

This happened over the weekend of Jan. 27, 2012! I thought I saw a Ghost at Manresa! While I worked on my wip (work in progress) with my laptop, its case sat on the table right between my computer and the wall. All of a sudden my laptop case started to move! All By Itself! It Moved! I lifted and peeked under it to see if some kind of vermin moved it around. I saw . . . Nothing!

A friend who worked by my side looked at me in my surprised mode and told me she had moved her computer cord. I looked, and wouldn’t you k know it? The cord lay under my computer cover. DARN!!

It could have been a ghost!

Valerie cannot defend herself!

Valerie knew that she and the others with her had no hope of being found innocent by the magistrates. The council members, by their questions, already found them guilty. Over and over again, the question of whether or not they were witches came at them. The head magistrate asked if they had seen Satan. When they denied the accusations, the question then changed. It became how they explained the acts of those who claimed they were afflicted by them. How could they answer such questions in a way that would prove their innocence in the face of those who accused them?

Once more the witch hunter paused. When the man looked the boy straight in the eye, the forcefulness of his earlier expression returned. In an ominous tone he reminded him, “I be a Witch Hunter. It matters not what I want to know. If she be a witch, I will know.”
Both Scotty and Valerie squirmed.

The Room Swam!

The room swam. She could bear no more, not today. She lifted her skirts, turned, and marched from the building. I will retain my dignity!

“Ye take heed! We will be watching ye!” the head magistrate raled after her. It was only as she left the building that she noticed Alexander sat in attendance.

It’s almost time for Olympia RWA’s Annual Elizabeth Kistler Retreat over the weekend of January 27 at the Haunted Manresa Castle! Our Creative Juices will be Refueled and Motivation Restored! And what better place for that to occur, for a paranormal author such as myself, than in a Castle full of Ghosts?!

She Has Anxious Hands!

She busied her anxious hands in her kitchen while she brewed some tea, and then sat with it in her favorite rocking chair. When that didn’t work she moved to a wainscot chair. The chair’s leather upholstered composition had been expanded to create a couch that seated two people. She curled her legs and feet up under her into a position that normally relaxed her, but that still did not work to calm her of the morrow.

Worry ran her ragged until deep into the night. She could not relax no matter what she did. When she finally did go to bed, tomorrow’s events forced Valerie to chase sleep with a fervid passion.
