A DREAM?

Here are seven more sentences from my current work! ENJOY! My heroine just wants to get a good night's sleep.

Sasha napped intermittently for a couple hours more on Viktor’s bed, when suddenly his voice broke to her through the peaceful void of sleep. She jerked to attention; somehow he had issued another command to her, the same as he had about the basement. Only this time he informed her that she should not enter the orchard again tonight.

Her eyes popped open and her neck muscles bristled at the memory of his order in her dream. After a moment her brow smoothed and she exhaled a frustrated breath. Relax. It was just a dream. It had to have been a dream.

The sense of heartache diminished with her confirmation. The trees again revealed their true untarnished beauty to her. As she watched, the location magically morphed into one that took her breath away. A lone star twinkled in the far distance of the sky. In its glow, the bare branches came alive. The dusting of snow that covered them shimmered brilliantly.
In the time-lapse of a moment, she sensed something lurked behind one of the trees.

CONNECTIONS

The purpose of this blog is to tell you all about my new release and the story it tells. It is a Romantic Paranormal Fantasy where other worlds exist along with the first. CONNECTIONS, the Trilogy, has been contracted by Books To Go Now. FATED, the first in my trilogy, is expected to be available the next week after its cover comes out on Tuesday, the 27th of August, 2013! CONNECTIONS is the story of three spirits who are cursed to travel throughout time in search of each other—their connection.

Alecksander Stone, the hero in CONNECTIONS, is an age-old supernatural magician. He is the Master of his domain, where there is only one, Mordrid the villain, who is more powerful than he.

Valerie Baldwin, the heroine, is endowed with strong powers of empathy. She uses her natural gift for the care of children, who she loves but is unable to bear.

A little boy, Scotty, is also in the mix of my main characters. He is an innocent who is the third spirit in the trilogy of intended souls who seek connection.

None know for whom it is they look. Valerie and Scotty challenge Alecksander at every turn. Alecksander is happy to be his own man, but is drawn to the other two.

Mordrid would rather see them all in Hell than allow the happily-ever-after of their connection.

The three protagonists are eventually forced to face the powerful evil wizard down, but who will win? Will they all survive?

Her sweet unconscious persuasion weakened Viktor's determination to remain detached from her. Enfeebled, yet still in control of himself, he lowered his head and nibbled affectionately on the captivating soft skin of her neckline. Viktor so longed to seduce her. He yearned to confess his true feelings for her. I must end this pretense I do not care for her. Little did he know. It would end tonight.

Suspenseful Seven Sentence Sunday!

Never before had he felt such a compelling need to thwart the malicious power within himself. He had to prevail over it at this moment.
Viktor experienced guilt from his past actions. His fear of the monster as it plagued and tortured his undead soul, since that fateful day centuries ago, strained to a climax. His body would soon burst from the physical exertion he demanded of it.
The soul within him exerted any ounce of humanity left within him not to allow its bodily takeover, but his slowly measured movements toward her continued. Though he balked, his body moved toward her, just the same. For all his disinclination, the power forced Viktor’s acceptance he still could not control it. She would be joined with him.

Another Suspenseful Seven Sentence Sunday!

This is another excerpt from my wip of last Sunday. In this one, my heroine, Sasha, has just spent the night ALONE in a scary old building. Her night did not go without happenstance. These are her thoughts about the events. Enjoy your Read!

Now, wait a minute here, Sash. You didn't sleep last night, and you only had a short, unplanned nap this afternoon. This place is dark and intimidating, and you know about your imagination! This huge old estate is full of image inducing shadows for it to play upon you with. You obviously saw some object silhouetted in the gathering darkness. Your mind played a trick on you. It's as simple as that.

Polished "Episodes"

Valerie stiffened at the memory!

Valerie stiffened at the memory. With everything in her, she fought the distraction of her repressed memory. She trembled and fought to remain calm. On top of everything else, she needed to ignore the rage. It always surged within her when her childhood memory bared its ugly head. The strength of her remembered emotion severed any further chance at connection she might have achieved with the little boy at this time. But she needed to try.

Where is Alecksander?

Alecksander stepped inside his stage prop and listened to the doors close behind him. But he heard nothing else – from them. The instant he became doused in darkness he emerged into another room, as had been the plan. He froze in motion and held his breath with an eerie expectation of the unknown, instead of making haste for the door where he could reenter the stage. He had not come out into the right room. He could feel the moisture in the damp stone walls that surrounded him in the dimly lit area he entered. It seemed like a cave.

Where am I?!

Where am I? Her body followed the rapid movement of her head, in a circle as she searched about herself for an answer to her next thought. What has happened to Scotty?

She searched back for him toward where the bedroom door should be, only to find it had vanished. The wall had disappeared. Her whole home no longer existed. No continuance of life as she knew it appeared to her.

The Crowd Hushed!

The crowd hushed and the voice continued into their dreadful silence, “The torture box on the stage, which The Master Magician will enter, is laced with steel spikes.”
Two well-poised young women dressed in golden flowing floor-length gowns entered onto the stage. Each evening dress glittered out to the spectators like the mineral itself. The ladies gracefully opened the body box and pointed out the piercing pins of silver spikes as the announcer spoke. The ominous spears appeared as numerous needles that awaited a pin cushion.

Something Strange!

Valerie stopped in step outside the courthouse; the majestic gothic styled building filled her vision. She did not know what it was, but something did not strike her as quite right. It seemed there was something that she should know. In silence she stood and listened. She ran a slow gaze from end to end of the structure before she took the building’s front steps. Chills traversed her shoulders and a nauseating sense of déjà vu struck her core when she entered the city courthouse.

Everything changed when Valerie entered the legal center.

She hoped to see him there!

Had I hoped to see him there? Am I conceited enough to have thought he had nothing better to do than stand around all day looking at me? And then, against all her better impulses, Valerie took another check through the myriad of scratches in the time-worn glass of the window at her side. While she gave it another good once over, she noticed the entire area had cleared of the passengers and what not who previously milled around it. For all her scrutinization; she found the man whom, by his she assumed to be a magician, nowhere to be seen. The events of her morning bewildered her. A shiver of déjà vu ran through her when she remembered his two appearances... and disappearances.

It had been like magic.

Valerie Stared Into Space!

Let's all travel back n time for a couple of days and pretend this is my Seven Sentences for Feb 5!

Valerie stared into space and remained lost in her thoughts, oblivious to the few last minute riders who pushed past her. She inwardly trembled with what she had ‘seen’ in him. The connectedness she experienced with him frightened her. Until now, she had only succeeded in mental connections with children. In the midst of her confusion, the memory of when her eyes first opened to her gift for mental communication with children returned. Once more she quivered, but this time for an entirely different reason. She attempted a swallow when an all too familiar lump blocked her throat.

They Must Run!

The minute they left the building, the boy energized and tugged on the man’s hand in an effort to run. But Alexander refused to be rushed off. Instead he stood still and held Scotty in place. “What’s the hurry? Wait here a minute.” He had still not heard a word from the child. “Tell me, what is your reason to run?”

They Were Coming For Her!

They were coming. The angered crowd hoisted their pitchforks and shouted curses in the direction of her cottage. The vengeful sounds that erupted from their throats roared through the trees.
Her breath caught on her heart, which had wedged itself in her throat. She snapped her hand away from the window and its covering closed.
She turned her back to the window and leaned against it. What would she do now?

What will she do? I might let you know with next Sunday’s sentences, or I might not. Heh,heh,heh . . . (I’m having too much fun right now.) :)

ACCK!! Yesterday’s 7 completely slipped my mind!! Here you go!

A murmur of consternation arose from the people of Smithton at his action of command. The majority slowed in fear and questioned whether or not they should continue to follow the witch hunter.
The original elder eventually stepped forward and led the way in Alexander’s intolerable path. At that instant the remainder of the council took heart and followed his lead. They wondered how the witch hunter knew which way he should go. He went exactly the way they would have shown him.
A hush fell over the crowd when Alexander reached the cottage where they had the children kept, and went forward without hesitation to examine them and their condition.
