“Scotty?” Val called into the distance. The last she had seen her little charge he had skipped away from the school house in what struck her as a most adventurous way. Where had he been going? Of course. She knew that he enjoyed spending time at that charlatan’s tent. Then she turned her head toward the opposite end of Copper Run. Hadn’t he raised his tent down there?
